Welcome to the home page of Frank Van Haste. My purpose in
developing this page is to learn some HTML and stay current with Net
techniques...but I'll use stuff from some areas of personal interest:
- General Aviation
- I'm a licensed, instrument-rated private pilot based at Potomac Airfield (VKX) in Friendly, MD, but I'm often at Igor I. Sikorsky Memorial Airport (BDR) in Stratford, CT. I fly a 1977 Cessna 182Q Skylane. It's a single-engine 4-place high wing monoplane.
- The Plastics Industry
- In "Real Life" I am General Manager of a small company, NOVACHEM, that manufactures and markets purging compounds for use by processors of thermoplastic materials.
- Submarines & Naval Science
- I spent ten years as a design and system support engineer at the Electric Boat shipyard in Groton, CT. We built nuclear powered submarines for the US Navy. I left EB in 1981, but I'm still fascinated by the black boats.
